Say hello to Miss Rachel! You could say helping with group classes runs in her veins—she discovered her love for it while lending a hand in a classroom setting as a youngster herself!
When she's not here with us, you'll find her over at a local church, working her magic with the youth or leading worship. She's all about spreading positivity and inspiring young minds wherever she goes.
Miss Rachel has been around since almost the beginning as my assistant here at Biology with Berta and am grateful for her help with our group classes!
A Chico State University graduate, Berta is a passionate advocate for wildlife conservation and education, with over 10 years of experience in wildlife rehabilitation, working in natural reserves, and teaching.
With a knack for teaching, she enjoys inspiring young minds through creative and interactive methods, believing that college-level science concepts can be grasped at a young age. Her ultimate goal is to instill a sense of wonder and appreciation for the world's diverse wildlife in future generations, fostering exploration, learning, and conservation efforts.
As many of you already know, Berta welcomed the arrival of her own young scientist in Fall ‘23 and is excited to teach her all about the Biology with Berta goal: Explore, Learn, Conserve.
Many of you might recognize Miss Isabel from around the community, as she’s a big part of the homeschool community here in Monterey County. I just attended a co-op park day where her and her husband ran the BBQ and fed all who came out! She is also an outdoor educator at Hidden Hills Ranch, where she leads students through science activities, PE classes, and Art classes just to name a few.
I worked with Miss Isabel for many years out at the ranch until I got Biology with Berta up and running. She is a wealth of knowledge and has a heart to help kids have fun while learning.
Hey there! I'm Armando, your new math wizard at Biology With Berta. As a Navy software developer who's traveled the world , I've seen math in action everywhere! From the deep sea to the stars , math is the secret language of our universe.
In calculus, we'll ride the waves of functions and explore the mysteries of motion and change. Algebra will be our treasure map , where x marks the spot for solving cool puzzles. And in geometry, it's all about the art of shapes – think of it as origami with numbers!
My mission? To make math your superpower . We'll tackle homework with ninja skills , ace those tests like superheroes , and have a blast doing it. Ready to join the adventure? Let's add some fun to the equation!
