June 5: Explore the Coast!

All Ages, Parent Participation Required

  • June 5th, 10:30am -12:30pm

    Join us for Explore the Coast with marine researcher and diver, our very own Ms. Ronja! Families will enjoy a hands-on marine and beach exploration experience as we discover coastal life, observe the shoreline, and learn more about our local ocean environment together. Parent participation is required, and the cost is $10 per family. Meet-up details will be sent to participating families as the event gets closer.

May 9: Blooms & Bee’s Mothers Day STEAM

    Celebrate Mother’s Day with a sweet STEAM experience featuring live honeybees and a special beekeeper presentation. Learn how pollinators help our world bloom through hands-on discovery and springtime fun.

June 20: Solar Sizzle Father’s Day STEAM

All Ages, Hosted at the Prunedale Youth Center

  • Join us for Solar Sizzle Father’s Day STEAM on Saturday, June 20th from 10:30 AM–12:30 PM at the Prunedale Youth Center!

    Young Scientists will bond with Dad while building their very own solar hot dog cooker and putting it to the test. This hands-on backyard BBQ-themed activity brings together engineering, solar energy, heat transfer, design thinking, and a little edible science as students create, experiment, and see how the sun can do the cooking. A fun, creative way to celebrate Father’s Day weekend with sunshine, science, and hot dogs!

August 14: Welcome Back Movie Night

All Ages, Parent Participation Required

  • Join us for Welcome Back [to school] Movie Night at the Prunedale Youth Center from 6:00–8:30 PM for a fun and relaxed evening with our community! Bring the family and help us kick off the season with a movie night full of snacks, connection, and family fun.

    A suggested donation of $10 per family is appreciated, and all proceeds will go to support the Monterey Marine Sanctuary.

July 10: Water STEAM Day

All Ages, Hosted at the Prunedale Youth Center

  • Join us for Water STEAM Day on Friday, July 10th from 1:00–3:00 PM! Students will dive into an afternoon of hands-on science fun and water play as we explore water through creative STEAM activities, experiments, and outdoor summer fun. It’s the perfect way to cool off, learn something new, and enjoy a splash-filled afternoon with friends!

    Cost: $15/student
    Ages: 5 & up

Join us 10:30am at the Marina Public Library for Backyard Science Saturdays! Each months event brings a new hands on STEAM adventure FREE to kids ages 5–12, generously sponsored by the Friends of the Marina Library. Register below to participate!
